Napa County Wine

When we started thinking about new types of wines to offer our club members Zinfandel and Syrah were always at the top of the list. Sourcing Syrah from Washington's Columbis Valley proved fairly easy, but Zinfandel proved to be more difficult. California Zinfandels are legendary so we thought it'd be appropriate to give it a try. The result of our efforts has brought us to our 2005 Napa County Zinfandel.

Zinfandel

For the first time we have decided to offer up this Zinfandel, a varietal planted in over 10 percent of vineyards in Californnia, and only surpassed in planting acreage by Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Zinfandel is generally a big, red Californian wine with high alcohol, but this Napa County Zinfandel has been produced in a slightly softer, nicely rounded Bordeaux style wine. Cherry and raspberry flavors are accented by hints of spice and oak hiding in the background. A smooth, food friendly Zin for pork chops, backyard burgers, hearty stews and grilled meats, sausages or vegetables, this Napa County Zinfandel should meet your needs for a variety of dinners.
